Happy New Year

December 31, 2006

Hey peeps.

Sorry again for the lack of update but you do understand right? I’m leaving Illinois in 2 days and trying to get as much time with Robbie as possible. We’ve done a lot of stuff. Today was exceptional because we drove an hour to Wilmot Mountain Ski Resort specially for me to experience snow. It was AMAZING. I’m still buzzing over it. It was beautiful out there. I didn’t ski though. I tried ice skating at the Winter Wonder Fest in Navy Pier and I totally suck at it AND I fell flat on my ass. That’s another story.

I have tons and tons and tons of pictures to go through and resize but don’t wanna bother right now. I am very sad to be leaving here and spending 2 days in Atlanta.

With that said, I’m off to snuggle my honey. Happy New Year all!

Merry X’mas from Chicago!

December 25, 2006

Hello~~

Sorry for the lack of update. Been busy SHOPPING and sightseeing.

I window shopped the first few days, then yesterday we went downtown and watched a show by the Blueman Group. It was so cool!

I have so many pictures to post up but just haven’t gotten the motivation to do it.

It hasn’t snowed yet! Cross your fingers for me as the weather channel it’s saying it’ll have a 40% chance of snow here. I’m SO rooting for that!!!

Anyway, Rob and I wish everyone a Merry Christmas. Have a good one!

December 16, 2006

Just woke up and waiting for brekkie.

Walked to Central Park yesterday morning and it is absolutely beautiful there. It was only 3 or so blocks from my cousin’s place. I took lots of pictures and they turned out GREAT (like you didn’t know that already)! Will post them soon. Then later in the afternoon, we took the subway (which smells BAD) to Harold Square, Times Square and the Xmas Tree at Rockefeller Center. Beautiful lights, just like you see in the movie, I kid you not.

Two more days til I see Rob! I’m pretty sure I won’t blog as much when I’m there with have so many things planned!

Later today I’m heading to Liberty Park to see the Statue of Liberty and then Ground Zero. Should be very interesting for me, as I am doing international politics. 😀

I like New York city but I can’t see myself staying here long. Everything moves so fast, LOTS of people and very very busy. It’s It’s a great place to visit though.

On another note, the weather here is so dry that even after washing my hair, I still get dandruff. It drives me NUTS! My lips were chapping a lot when I got here but lots of Chapstick helped take care of that. xD

Time to watch some tv! Ciao~

Greetings from New York

December 15, 2006

Hello!!! 😀

New York is boootiful AND busy! I hear police sirens right now. I hear it almost every hour, even at 3am. So you can imagine how crazy it is where I’m staying. My cousin says we’re a few blocks from Central Park and it is possible to walk there.

The lights are amazing downtown. We past Times Square (where the NYE celebrations always take place in New York) and saw the Empire State Building in red and green lights. How pretty!

It’s currently 6.40am here. I can’t sleep anymore. I keep waking up every hour.

Oh, weather is nice. Not as cold as I expected. I think it’s around 7C now.

Anyway, I think it’s after 7am now so I better get going. Thinking of walking to Central Park. We’re gonna go pick a Christmas tree later in the afternoon and decorate it! A REAL Christmas tree!!!

Will post pics soon. Til then, bye!~

United States, here I come!!!

December 13, 2006

Doing some last minute packing and making sure I have everything I need. In less than 12 hours I’ll be going on that plane. I’m getting extra super duper excited as we speak.

I should be able to update while I’m there. Place I’m staying at has wireless internet, but I doubt I’ll update much because I’ll be too freaking busy enjoying my vacation. 😀

Anyway, I better get some sleep.

I’ll be back next year! Don’t miss me too much!

Happy Holidays everyone =)

Packing

December 11, 2006

Been busy packing the last couple days, trying to figure what I should or shouldn’t bring. I don’t have much for warm clothes, so I’ll probably end up buying a couple of sweaters when I’m there. I have a couple of warm scarfs and hats. I even bought warm fuzzy slippers for indoors. Hehe I also need to bring a couple of nice outfits (that are warm) for those few nice-classy-dinners which I think may happen in New York.

So my plan is:

1) Bring all the (somewhat) lowcut tops I have and underneath them wear flat colored spaghetti straps top.

2) Bring all the long sleeve tops I own. Doesn’t matter if it’s ugly. I have a nice looking winter coat waiting for me in New York. Rob sent it over last week.

3) 2 pairs of jeans and a pair of black pants (for those nice dinners). I know I’ll buy jeans there. (HEH)

4) Warm undearwear!!! Thankfully found a pair that would fit me at Satok Plaza.

Anyway, I’m getting more and more excited by the day. I have been having a hard time falling asleep since the past 3 days because when the lights are off and I’m laying in bed, my thoughts run wild. I imagine the things I’ll see, the things I’ll do etc. I’m just THAT excited.

School related, I just got news that my presentation is scheduled to be around the 10th or 11th January. That’s 4 days upon my return. *sigh* How leh??? I decided this afternoon that I would write down ideas and notes during my 20 something hours flight but knowing me I highly doubt I would have anything worked out. I would be too busy watching in-flight movies or playing games or trying not to go out of my mind. Lol

Okay, back to packing. See ya

Christmasie

December 9, 2006

I just got back from playing 2 hours of badminton with my friends. We had the badminton court for 3 hours, but after playing 2 hours straight, my legs got wobbly. So much for stamina huh? Hehe

After my 2 hour session, I started getting hungry. We headed to Tsiang Tsiang 3rd mile for drinks and I resisted from ordering food. Late night suppers are not going to help me lose weight. (As if I can lose weight in 5 days). Actually I just don’t want to gain weight before I leave.

Yes, I’m hopping on that plane in FIVE days!

Christmas is around the corner. I love this time of the year. I love seeing Christmas trees lit up with colorful lights and glittering decorations. I love the thought of seeing Christmas trees with snow on them. I always wanted to see that with my own eyes.

Until that happens, I still get a kick outta seeing Christmas decorations around in town. I saw some Christmas decorations on display at Green Gallery.

I was so tempted to get one but that would be a waste of money seeing as I won’t be around to enjoy it long enough.

December 8, 2006

Last Sunday, I sneaked to a dog show at Kenyalang Park. It started at 9 am but when I got there (at 12.30pm) it was prize giving already. (hehehe)

Didn’t get to take a lot of pictures of the cute doggies too.

BUT, I did get a pic of these beautiful dogs…

Another Goldie, smilling at me. How sweet! I want one now!!!

Rottweiler…reminds me of my Shadow who died a couple years ago. Damn thieves poisoned him.

Lastly…

This is Chi Ling, Linda’s dog. No she wasn’t in the dog show. I just thought it was appropriate that her picture be here, since earlier pictures were of dogs. Hehehe

Next…

A bunch of us has a little part thingy at Linda’s house (where I took a picture of Chi Ling) on Wednesday night for 2 birthdays (Allen’s and Mag’s) and a farewell (Fang, she left to go back to Sibu).

But, Sien Fah beats him to it and gets the biggest piece, then eats it ever-so-happily. Can you see the smile of contentment on his face? (Yes, the same guy that annihilated my birthday cake)

I forgot to charge my camera so it ran out of power not too long after taking some pictures. Most of the pics are with Linda so hopefully I’ll post em up before I leave if I get it in time (6 more days!!!).

The next day, we got sneaky. We found out that the farewell girl was going to be at a certain place for breakfast before driving back to Sibu.

So…….

We ambushed her at the place she was eating. Granted, we got there before she did so it was quite entertaining to see the shocked look on her face. After we ate, as always…

We camwhored one last time with her….

After breakfast and Fang had left, the remaining three of us went window shopping. I wanted to get something for someone for Christmas. *wink* Couldn’t find what I wanted so I’ll have to keep searching.

Well, Rob just got online.

Toodles~~

YES!!!

December 6, 2006

I just emailed the proposal to the supervisor. Hopefully this time it won’t get “rejected” again.

That means I’m done!!! WOOHOO!!!

I read it over a couple times on the laptop. Then I printed it out and read it again. It doesn’t look that bad at all. The perfectionist in me would’ve love to work on it more but the procratinator in me would wait til the last minute (AGAIN).

ANYWAY, tomorrow onwards I shall be doing lots of planning and getting excited with Robbie. *jumps in joy* I’ve never been so excited in my life…wait, I have been this excited before. It was before Rob came over.

Man, I love this feeling. The adrenaline is just pumping away. I’m not even so worried about the 20 something flight time anymore. I just really wanna see the United States of America!!! It may not seem like a big deal to most of you but for me it’s HUGE. I’ve dreamed of going to the States since I was a little girl. Even better now that I’m going to see Rob at the same time!!!

Are you guys sick of me talking about visiting the States yet? lol I just can’t help it. I’m so excited. Yes, I know I said that like a gazillion times. Okay, let’s move on to something else.

Ermmmmm…

Oh yes, tomorrow I’m heading to the library to return some books (seeing as I don’t need them when I’m in the states!). Ooops, I just did it again, didn’t I? Heh

I’m meeting Akiko (yes, Japanese girl, not some ah lian) at the library. She wants to see me, not too sure why. Perhaps just to hang out I suppose. Later, at night I’m going to a little farewell party of sorts for a friend at a friend’s house. Will definitely post pictures up for that.

Speaking of pictures, I have a few to post up. Just haven’t had the time to transfer them to the laptop. My keyboard is fading on me. It works fine, just that the letters are really faded. Rob’s gonna give me a new keyboard!!!

Errr, back to non-US-related stuff…

I’m so diggin’ the new song by Take That. I never thought they would come back with a new song. It’s called “Patience” if you don’t already know. I used to be such a fan of Take That. I love their songs. Listening to this new song brought me down memory lane, so I “gathering” old Take That songs. Who can forget Gary Barlow’s “Forever Love”? It was my favorite love song at the time. I think I used to drool when I heard that song. LOL

Anyway it’s after 1am. I should go to bed. I really do wanna get 8 hours of sleep for a change. Goodnight guys!

P/S Yes I know I’m in a bubbly mood at 1 freaking am.

P/S/S Promise I’ll write a “worthy” post soon.

Almost there!

December 5, 2006

I’m almost done with the proposal. I need to do some edits and re-wording and I think it’ll be good to go. *cross fingers*

Rob’s been helping me a lot with it and I’m so so grateful. I’m going to buy him a nice dinner when I’m there. And yes you can quote me on that honey. 😛

When I’m done with this proposal, Rob and I will sit down and list out all the things we wanna do and see while I’m there. We also intend to make an itinerary of sort so that we can make most of our time together. Two weeks only lah! Not enough lah! 😉

My favorite song at the moment is Howie Day’s “Collide”. It plays over and over and over as I’m doing my proposal. Here are the lyrics to it:

The dawn is breaking
A light shining through
You’re barely waking
And I’m tangled up in you
Yeah

I’m open, you’re closed
Where I follow, you’ll go
I worry I won’t see your face
Light up again

Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to rhyme
Out of the doubt that fills my mind
I somehow find
You and I collide

I’m quiet you know
You make a frist impression
I’ve found I’m scared to know I’m always on your mind

Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the stars refuse to shine
Out of the back you fall in time
I somehow find
You and I collide

Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to ryhme
Out of the doubt that fills your mind
You finally find
You and I collide

You finally find
You and I collide
You finally find
You and I collide

I’m off. Later alligator~~
