A blast from the past

August 19, 2007

When I was a lil girl I used to eat this small round biscuit-like snack almost daily (I guess that’s why I’m the size I am today….HAH). A couple weeks ago I saw it again at the store. All the memories of eating this snack came back to me…the taste of it, how it melts in your mouth when it comes in contact with saliva…

Okay, so by now some of you are probably thinking “What the heck is she going on about???” It’s “ball cake”. Now back when I ate this snack often I didn’t call it “ball cake”. It was more referred to as the “round round biscuit” or the “ji liap ji liap” (in Hokkien). Still don’t know what I’m talking about? Okay, here’s the picture:

Know what I’m talking about now?

ANYWAY….

Yesterday I had lunch with Fiona at Taipei 101 or is it 101 Taipei..? We were there last week too and had almost the same dishes. These are pictures from last week though. We were so hungry that we stopped at the bakery to buy some cream puffs. At 80 cents per piece it was really worth it because once you bite on to it the cream just kinda squirts out into your mouth. Ok my mouth is watering already.

Do you see the oh-so-satisfied-look on my face? It’s like “Neener neener neener you can’t have it”

So it’s almost the end of August and I’ve been working on Chapter 4. Hopefully I can hand it in by the end of the month. The professor has yet to get back to me on the previous two chapters. Cross fingers that it’s ok, as compared to the first chapter AKA the proposal which got rejected a handful of times. Arrgghhhh

Oh yeah, Rob, the lucky monkey he is, won concert tickets for the Beastie Boys from his local radio station. He sent a total of 6 SMSes and the winner is the one who sent in 101st SMS. So, he got it. The concert is scheduled for September I think. Since he’s not a fan of the Beastie Boys, Rob is looking to sell the tickets off. More information later.

I’m working on a longer post so check back soon k?

Have a great weekend guys!
