Pictures and French toast
July 6, 2007
Been feeling oh-so lazy today. Sadly, I’ve been lounging more than working on my thesis. I set myself a deadline to hand in a chapter 10 days from now. Hopefully I’ll stick to it. MUST MUST MUST.
Went out with friends a few days ago and camwhored like crazy. We took 114 pictures in under 2 hours. Many MANY candid shots. Not feeling very wordy today so enjoy the pictures.
“WHY??? WHY WON’T YOU LEAVE ME ALONE??!!”
With Fiona and just-met-Carolyn (who’s my reader)
Then he smiles like a toad 😛
And the REAL camwhoring starts…
Errrrr I see two line for eyes
Finally settled with a “normal” pose
Something interesting on the ceiling Alan?
Then I looked disgusted again…
Eventually decided to immitate squirrels
I have no idea what we were trying to immitate
Oh yes, just to make you drool here are a couple of pictures of the French toast I made this week; on Monday and today.
It’s pretty easy to make. I don’t follow a specific recipe measurement though. I use one large egg, add some milk and beat until it gets bubbly. Not too much milk though, I would say around 1/4 cup or less depending on the egg you use. Simply put, you still want the egg texture slimey. The milk just makes the toast fluffier. Another thing I add into the batter is cinnamon. I always loved the aroma cinnamon. Anyway, when you got the mixture beaten all bubbly, just dip the bread in and fry both sides in a buttered pan. Voila! You have yummy French toast.
I buy the English bread from Southern Bakery at 2 1/2 mile. I’ve seen bakeries that sell thicker bread slices in Kuching but I just can’t remember which one. Does anyone know? I think if the bread was thicker it would taste better. Then again, what I made tastes heavenly as it is. =D
I put butter on my toast and people usually use maple syrup but I didn’t have any at home and maple syrup is kinda expensive so I substitute with honey instead. It tastes really good! I found strawberries in the fridge and since strawberries are kinda sour in general, the honey makes it sweet. So, a combination of sour, sweet and buttery. MMMMMMMMmmmmmmm delish!
Hungry?
Oklah, I have to work on the thesis. I know this is a half-arsed post but I will write soon.
